Baptism Advice

Advice for Baptism Families. Parish of NW Swindon and Lydiard Millicent.

We are delighted that you are booking your child’s baptism at All Saints Church. It is always a great pleasure to welcome people to Church services, especially for Baptism.

Attendance at church

There is much to help and guide you through the process on our website, please see below.  We would very much like that you come and join us at 10.30am service before and after the baptism to enable you to meet the church family.  There is a creche at every 10.30 morning service.  On the 3rd Sunday we have Sunday School which we call J club.

The Christian Faith

If you would like to know more about the Christian faith, we run regular exploration courses such as Alpha, where you are free to ask and enquire as much as you want. Also, you will get a minimum of one visit to chat through baptism, and we are happy to come as many times as you want to talk through baptism and what it means to make promises at that service.

Practicalities You are welcome to have your child’s baptism at the 10.30 service. However, should you prefer a Sunday afternoon service say at 2.00pm, this can be arranged

For an afternoon service, then please be aware that parking arrangements need to be made with Lydiard Millicent Parish Hall, as the hall is a separate arrangement, and is not owned by All Saints and maybe in use on that afternoon There is a link on our website to that of the Parish Hall.  There is also the possibility of you using The Sun Inn for your reception and parking and again, this is for you to arrange and a link on our website is available. Details of LMP Hall Booking clerk are: Mr Chris Parsons, Lydiard Millicent, SN4 8EH. lmph1965@gmail.com  Tel: 0740 350 8413

Our prayer is that your child’s baptism may be the beginning of a Christian journey for the whole family. Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life in all its fullness”, and baptism can be an entry point for all of you to discover or rediscover the goodness of God.

Our Bible verse for 2018/19 is from 2 Thessalonians 2:8 “so, we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well”.    Please read the baptism section on our church website.  www.allsaints-online.org.uk    All this is to help you prepare.
