Children and Youth
One of the highlights of our ministry is BASH – Bible And Sharing Hour and a Half! Meeting every other Friday evening in church, BASH welcomes around twenty to thirty enthusiastic youngsters aged 8–15. It’s a lively and friendly space where they can explore faith, build friendships, and share life together.
BASH is led by our a very experienced Children and Youth Worker, serving as our Faith Chaplain, who works across four local primary schools (Lydiard Millicent, Peatmoor, Ridgeway Farm, and St Mary’s) and Braydon Forest Secondary School. She leads worship, encourages young people to plan and deliver services, and teaches Religious Education as well as other subjects when needed.
Alongside this, she organises and leads creative and interactive events for the young people, such as Experience Christmas, Experience Easter, Experience Pentecost, and Christmas in a Box. These activities not only bring the Christian story to life for youngsters but also involve members of our church community in meaningful ways.
Our All-Age Services are another great joy, especially at Christmas and Easter. On these occasions, as many as thirty young people have led the congregation through words, music, and dance, filling the church with their families and the wider community. It is a wonderful sight to see — and our prayer is that this enthusiasm and participation will continue to flow into our regular Sunday services.
