Thanksgiving Services: Many parents choose to hold a Thanksgiving Service for their child rather than a baptism. It is a joyful celebration of God’s love and a public expression of the parents’ desire for their child to one day make their own personal decision to trust Christ and be baptised as a believer. A Thanksgiving Service gives parents the opportunity to thank God for the gift of their child and to ask for God’s blessing and protection. The church family also promises to support and encourage the family as the child grows.
A Thanksgiving service takes place within the 10.30am Sunday service.
Before a thanksgiving service our Vicar will meet with you to answer any questions you may have.
Baptism is a joyful step for anyone who has decided to follow Jesus. It is an outward and public expression of an inward faith in Jesus Christ, showing the change God has begun within us – leaving our old lives behind and stepping into a new life with him. At a Baptism parents and god-parents make serious promises that they will commit to following Christ and bring their children up as Christians.
All baptisms take place within the 10.30am Sunday service.
Before the baptism our Vicar will meet with you for baptism preparation and to answer any questions you might have.
There are no statutory fees for a Thanksgiving or Baptism.
