Misson Partners in Brazil

Daniel and Sarah Brito Medeiros
CMS Brazil Mission Associates

Daniel and Sarah work with their local church in Recife, North East Brazil. Their ministry involves leadership, worship, evangelism, discipleship, and dance.

Many children in Brazil are born into poverty and live in fear as a result of abuse, violence, and neglect. Some are forced to live on the streets, where girls in particular are highly vulnerable to sexual exploitation. Daniel and Sarah’s heart is for people to encounter God’s presence and find healing and wholeness.

Their Story

Daniel is from Recife, near where ReVive is based, and has a background in public relations. He networks with churches and charities to raise awareness of ReVive’s work and to help generate support for this vital mission.

Sarah is a dance therapist. In 2006, while teaching ballet to children living near a rubbish dump in Brazil, she was inspired to pursue an MA in Dance Movement Therapy to support emotional well-being. She believes dance can bring order, dignity, and peace to chaotic lives. Her time on the HTB healing room dance team gave her the tools to help girls encounter God’s presence and find restoration from trauma.

Daniel and Sarah first met in 2005 while working with street children in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Both had been deeply influenced by the book Street Children of Brazil by Sarah de Carvalho, which inspired them to go deeper into this kind of ministry. They were engaged in 2007 and married in England in 2008, always knowing they would return to Brazil to continue serving street children.

In 2015, together with their daughters Sophie and Ana, they returned to Recife to spend two years working with teenage mothers. It was a privilege and a joy to share God’s love with these young women and their babies. Towards the end of that period, they felt called to continue their mission in Brazil. After a short time back in the UK in 2018, they became long-term CMS Mission Associates, now serving once again in Recife.
